*whew* I'm done with the serious part. So after the afternoon workshop, we had the rest of the time left to enjoy ourselves. Before heading off to Lan Kwai Fong for dinner, I saw 2 guys from the "Popular culture" course. They were my friends' friend's groupmates. Hmm..How shall I describe them? Vain pots!!!! haha..~ Much Much MUCH more vain than Jian min. Do u know how they recognised girls? They do it through the branded goods a girl used. O_o!! I must admit that one of them is quite not bad looking, but I also heard that between these 2 guys, one of them is GAY. And he hates beautiful girls, like Joyce, the girl with a dolly face, because he doesn't like girls who are prettier than him. When I heard that, I was like "ohmigod?!?!?" Back to Lan Kwai Fong. It's my first time there! Felt so out of place, because it's a place where lots of pubs are situated there, it's "flooded" with caucasians. But we didn't enter of any pubs of course. haha..~ We played some games together at night, and sharing sessions with the seniors. Then I learnt from them that in HKU, the hall culture is very important, but I think most probably I won't be able to reside in a hall, since I stay in Hong Kong Island, same piece of land as HKU is situated. Though my house is another far end from HKU. And a senior also told me that actually HKU has the most number of holidays. After our Midyear Examination, which will be just before christmas most probably, we will have a 1 month holiday. Then the summer holiday is going to be 3 months! On top of all these, we still have easter holiday and study breaks. haha..~ 3 Cheers for HKU!!! Last day of the Leadership course morning. Everyone greeted each other "morning" while having breakfast. Then this time was Jolly approached me to greet me first! Polite! =) before the start of the course, all of us played a game, which was 29 of us back-to-back, without hand support, we had to stand up together. It was great! The team spirit was very strong. After this we played a game which required us to travel to different places in the campus, and explore our life journeys. I must must must praise the guys here. They are JUST sOOooo gentleman. Hmm..I am not implying that Singaporean guys are not gentleman (because jinhui is very gentleman too!), but I guess there are generally more guys in Hk who are so. Like they will offer tissues to the girls, won't let the girls to be the last to walk, some also offer to shade and fan me, because they knew I am afraid of the heat. Can u believe this? So touch~ haha..~ During Lunch, Lydia & Becky played a game with me & Krystal. I shall leave out the description. But Krystal and I laughed like mad, because it was super funny, though the game was not supposed to be funny but a serious type. =X haha..~ In the afternoon, we were asked to walk down a lane individually, and say this in cantonese "Let me tell you something..After graduation, I want to do _________ the most, because of ___________" in a dramatic way. We were supposed to fill up the blanks ourselves. Everyone had a great sense of humour. For example, Joyce said that she wanted to undergo sex change, because she thought she's very "man"; James said that he wanted to open a clinic, because then he could employed all the pretty nurses. lolx.. You must be there to see!!!! All us laugh our heads off. Especially me & Elvis. When we are together, we always laugh like nobody's business. =X haha..~ Actually, I was supposed to be the second last to go and Elvis the last. But we decided to do this together. Initially, when we walked down the lane, our friends was wondering why.., then "on the stage", we started saying in a very secretive way with a big gap between us, "let we tell you something...", I said, "after graduation, I want to marry Elvis" and he said that he wanted to marry me, then in unison, we said "because we are love at first sight!" and we act super sweet and lovingly. lolx.. and we had the loudest cheer and clappings! =D We took some photos in these two days. But my friends have not send to us or upload to a website. When I have the photos in hand, I let u guys see it okiez? =) Then you can see how pretty Joyce, Sharon and Kelly are. I think Vivien & Krystal are quite pretty and cute too! =) but in a different type. Yar!!!! I almost forget to mention that a guy named Sunny said that I was pretty!!! Yay!!!!! First time! First time someone not related to my daddy praised me. ~fah~lah~lah~lah~ bhb again. =X sorry..haha..~ Please understand me as seldom people praise me so. Jia you! Thanks for being such great friends! Love from Karen
Karen Says "HELLOOOooooooo" to all her precious friends! =) Yesterday was my last day of the "Leadership ethics and Professional Endeavours" course. A great & unique course! And super fun too! hehe..~ It doesn't teach u how to deliver a speech well or how to "control" those under you. Instead, it mainly wants us to explore ourselves deeply, like our intelligence, family influence, our defined goals, death and personality. Initially, I & my friends thought that this course was really fun, but it didn't seem to correspond with the title of the course. But yesterday, the professor and seniors finally explained to us. They said that there's a saying goes something like this: "Leadership comprises of character and strategy, but if one has to go without one, strategy will be the one to be forgone." Thus, all of us finally understand why they taught us character development & self-exploration, instead of the "strategies".
Friday morning. Saw that Jolly guy again while on my way to school. (He was the one who made me realised that people in HK has the tradition of greeting each other "good morning", because he did so in last Wednesday while I was trying to act cool and mature. =X ) So..This time I didn't act cool. haha..~ I took the initiative to greet him "morning" first. =) Got back my second math test results, 9/10. yay! but I was so sure I screwed up my third math test, so I was kind of depressed, to the extent of I went to the school main library to look up for books to do self-studying before the start of the Leadership course. When I was heading to the Faculty of Medicine Building (which is situated in somewhere else, so have to take bus to travel form the main campus to that place), I saw that Jolly guy AGAIN!!!! lolx.. and guess what? he was holding an umbrella to shade off the uv rays. Haiz...HK guys are really vain. haha..~ Talk with him a little, and realised he will be studying Quantitative Finance and he used to study in the school which my brother studied before 10 years ago. -_-..... haha..~
friday afternoon. the leadership course brought us through a "Life & Death Education". We were told to share our thoughts about death, draw out our own graveyard and lastly, which also gave all of us the greatest impact, was to write out lastwords, seriously. Each of us were given a scenario (mine was a plane crash), then we were told that we have 30 minutes of our lives left, and we only have a pencil and paper, to write down our lastwords to whoever we want to. Hmm..at first we thought it was pretty crazy and dumb, it's so "touchwood" larh. But when we really started writing, all of us were very solemn and really writing frantically. To be exact, everyone was just so indulge into "this activity", it just seemed "so real", and we started crying, both girls and guys.
At that point of time, one will feel that 30 minutes were just too short to write down everything we would want to say to our love ones. All the stuff which one usually won't say it explicitly, will do so when we know we were going to die soon. So many "sorry"s I wrote, so many "thank you"s. haiz... I wrote to my parents first of course, while writing to them, I was still able to control my tears. But when I started to write to my brother. I couldn't control myself anymore and cried. I realised how bad I treated my brother all this while, despite the care and love he showered to me. I always told my class girls how much I wanted to be a better sister, but I always failed. Then "before my death", the sense of guilt overwhelmed me, I wrote to my brother, "if I am given the chance now, I will definitely definitely change." Deep down in my heart, that was what I really felt at that point of time. How important our sibllings were to us. As important as our parents. After my brother, I wrote to my "red mushroom", then there wasn't anytime left to write to my friends, because "I was dead". Sorry..
The "Life & Death education" ended with the 5 pharses one would say before his death without oneself and others feeling regret.
1.I love you.
2.Thank you.
3.Please forgive me.
4.I forgive you.
5.Goodbye.
Death is not as scary as one thinks. What is scarier is the things we have not done, the things we have not say, like treasuring the every moment we share with out loved ones, and loving them.
Almost played like mad at night, since it was the last night together. Went out to eat at mac at 3am with Vivien & Victoria. We were just so hungry!!! On our way there, we did a few screamings (loud ones.. =X), because we saw insects!!!!!! One even "walked" along with me. Almost took my life away. =S I realised a lot of HK girls are so afraid of insects. Anything with 6 legs. haha..~ So the seniors had to help us clear them away if we see one in the seminar room. Slept at 4am, while some played throughout the night, like my room mate Shirely. haha..~ I had to wear contact lens, so I couldn't not sleep to rest my eyes.
Yupz! That's should be all. FINALLY yar? haha..~ really sorry for wasting your precious time in reading such a LONG post. I just want to share with you EVERYTHING that's happening around me!! Don't worry! I hope after this post. I won't send such long ones again, unless there's some big events like Orientation camps? Wahahahaha...
